How to Find Your Ring Size at Home

The Russian ring size used at KHALISI is simply the inner diameter in millimeters: size 17 means 17 mm. Knowing that, you can find your size at home in five minutes. Here are three methods — from the most precise to the quickest.

Method 1. Using a ring that already fits

The most reliable option. Take a ring that sits well on the intended finger, place it on a ruler and measure the inner diameter at the widest point — from edge to edge of the inner circle. The number in millimeters is your Russian size. Measure two or three times for accuracy. (US sizes for reference: size 17 ≈ US 6.5, size 18 ≈ US 8.)

Method 2. With a string or paper strip

• Wrap a string (or a 3–5 mm paper strip) around the base of your finger — snug but not tight.
• Mark where it meets and measure the length — that is your finger circumference.
• Divide the circumference by 3.14 to get the diameter, i.e. the size.

Example: circumference 53.5 mm ÷ 3.14 ≈ 17 — your size is 17.

Method 3. Circumference chart

If you only have a measuring tape: circumference 48–49 mm — size 15.5; 50–51 mm — 16; 53–54 mm — 17; 56–57 mm — 18; 59–60 mm — 19. Round intermediate values up — slightly loose is better than tight.

Five rules for an accurate measurement

• Measure in the evening: fingers are slightly wider at the end of the day.
• Never measure cold hands — fingers shrink by half a size in the cold.
• If the knuckle is noticeably wider than the base, measure both and take the average.
• Wide bands fit tighter — add 0.5 to your size.
• Remember that right and left hands can differ.
